Chicken or Beef?

Gone are the days when your top eight was fire
The kids through what we built on top of the pyre
Curmudgeons aside, we had a hell of a time
Yet all of it seems moot now
There ain’t no party like a funeral party
And I’ve got some hours to burn
So get loose, or get lost
Cuz the thunder is rising electric
Never too old
To throw down with us
Never too young
To die like we all once did
We all live in a prison made of what could have been
We subsist on the dreams we left behind
This after party is lame, but I don’t mind
It beats my nine to five
Back to reality
Gotta put these kids to bed

Drag me through the streets by my neck I don’t care
Tear apart my adolescence
Brick by fucking brick
All we do loiter and
Terrorize the status quo
Much improved is the place
Where we came of age
Better as a bastion for
Whites of a certain age
Make war on the poor
Avert your eyes cover your ears
This gorgon will turn your mind to stone
This is the end no where to run
When all we see is what they want us to see
Demolish this place
I give you housing that gives you no shelter
We’ve hidden your face
We’re getting fatter by the day
Drowning in 806
Drag me through the streets by my neck I don’t care

I Did Tremble

Wait your turn
Be my guest
This is all getting clear to me
Around this room
Throw yourself
Smack your head against the window
I could burn you out of my brain
Like you burn me straight to the ground
This is way beyond out of control
I think I've finally figured you out
I just walked in the door
Let me get situated
This isn't paradise, and I'm shutting it down
You act like you need it
You act like you have to have it
Gimme some of that low-hangin' fruit
I know where you live, I know where you sleep
She better sleep with one eye open
This is how it had to be

Dumpster Couch

This place doesn’t quite feel like home
But I’m fine with it
Alien doesn’t begin
To describe how I feel here
Street knowledge fails me
I never had it to begin with
But I guess we’re brothers now
Or, brothers and sisters
Who could have guessed
There’s a gulf in between us
Sure I still have my regrets
This is such a strange tribe
Do you hear the steel?
As it begins to rain
Kiss your ass goodbye
It doesn’t matter what we’ve lived through
Only that we live through this
It doesn’t matter where we came from
This is our home now
Welcome to the suck!
I look back on those days
And think “we were just kids
Doing a man’s job”
I look back on those nights
And realize we never left
The desert
Let us go!
We were outlaws
We were presidents
We were everything the other one needed to get through
The rains came, and then the wind
Then we came home and I never saw your face again
